NEXT MEETING: MARCH 22, 2017, 7 PM

THIS MEETING IS ONE WEEK EARLY BECAUSE OF A SCHEDULED LIBRARY SALE ON OUR REGULAR DATE

PROGRAM
12 [Plus] WAYS TO SPIN BATTS with Jillian Moreno

This program will be our "popcorn and a movie" night. Bring a soda or designer coffee for the popcorn that will be served up with the video. Plenty of light if you want to bring your wheel and spin also.

From the video:
Are you Batty for Batts?
Have you fallen in love with gorgeous batts--beautifully blended, charmingly striped or layered, or totally wild? But how do you spin your very delightful fiber gems to make the most of the color possibilities and produce the yarn you want?

You'll learn to:

  • Identify four main types of batts
  • Control the flow of color in a batt
  • Spin with or against the batts's inclination
  • Control texture to spin for lofty, smooth, or wild yarn
Jilian is the editor of Knittyspin and Ad Manager and Catalyst of Knitty Magazine. This means she is often the brains behind the exciting new ideas implemented at Knitty and is a key part of the success the magazine has enjoyed over the past 12 years. We have a link to the Knitty website on the right side of our blog.

She is a regular contributor to Ply Magazine and currently sits on the editorial board.

Jillian has been a knitter forever, and a spinner almost as long. She knits, stitches, crochets and sometimes weaves with her handspun yarn. She touches fiber every day! Her blog is www.jillianmoreno.com
