2019 SUMMER PICNIC

Thank you, Wendy L., for hosting our annual summer picnic.  The cotton packages were lovely, we all learned a lot about spinning cotton, and we shared a wonderful potluck lunch.  Bring your samples to our August meeting for Show & Tell.  Thanks to Dona S. for the photos.

SHEEP SHOW AT THE CALIFORNIA STATE FAIR

The sheep barn is open at the California State Fair from Thursday, July 25 through Sunday, July 28.  This part of the livestock show also includes longhorns, alpaca, llamas, and angora goats.  For more information and schedule, see the California State Fair web site

Guild member Robin L. will have an educational booth in the barn, and will be showing sheep from Meridian Jacobs.  Here is a Meridian Jacobs blog entry talking about the booth and sheep show at last year's State Fair.

You can also visit the exhibit halls to see winning quilts, knits, hand-spun and other fiber arts.

WEBSITE

I recently cleaned up all of the text in the blog and started from scratch - too many leftover HTML tags copied from month to month were making formatting more difficult than it should be.

Because of the shortcomings of the free software, even when doing a 'Preview' I can't accurately judge the size of the text before publishing, plus all of us view this on different size screens.  The blog is now using the default tags for 'Heading' text and 'Normal' text.  If you have trouble with the text font or size or find broken or incorrect links, please let me know.
